Notification from Employee

If an employee reports feeling unwell, they should notify you directly by phone as soon as reasonably possible, ideally no later than 8:30 AM on their first day of absence.

Request a reason for their absence and an anticipated return date, if possible. Also discuss any urgent work that needs to be covered by the team.

Informing the Team

Once you have received notification of an employee’s sick leave, update the team asap by putting a post in the #general channel of slack.

Ensure any any urgent tasks are reassigned or covered to minimise workflow disruption.

Recording Absences

All sick leave should be put into Charlie HR straight away and recorded on Forcecast to maintain accurate records.

Daily Updates from Employee

Instruct the employee to check in by phone each working day of their absence to update on their progress and expected return date unless their absence is covered by a doctor's certificate.
