SICK LEAVE AND ABSENCE

APPOINTMENTS

Appointments made to see a dentist, doctor or other medical professional, should be taken in your own time where possible. From time to time you may need some time off for an appointment during our core hours, please advise your line manager of when you will be away from your work and arrange to make up the time.

HEALTH INSURANCE

As an employee of Distinctly you can access our private medical insurance scheme. This scheme provides private medical care for you, subject to the rules of the scheme.

Our chosen supplier for health insurance is WPA Health.

Distinctly will cover the cost of the insurance for you as an individual. If you wish to add dependents to the scheme (partners, spouses and/or children) this can be arranged at a cost to the employee.

We believe this is a very attractive benefit that we encourage everyone to join. If you decide not to join the scheme, we cannot add the equivalent amount to your salary.

This benefit is taxable and the tax will be withdrawn directly from monthly pay.

EYE HEALTH

Working on screens can put strain on your eyes. We encourage you to look after your eye health, and regularly go for eye tests.

Distinctly will cover the cost of all employees who use computer screens across their work day, to have an annual eye test up to the cost of £30.

If you are given a new prescription solely for the use of using screens, then Distinctly will contribute up to £60 for the cost of new frames/lenses/contact lenses.

Please log your receipts on Free Agent and place the expense under ‘Eye Health’.
